This introductory course provides an overview of the most important fundamentals of social pedagogical family support, or SPFS. Topics covered include historical development, key players and their areas of responsibility and the typical SPFS process. In addition, the central guiding principles, framework conditions and opportunities and risks that shape professional practice are discussed. The aim of the course is to develop a basic understanding of the structure, process and position of SPFS and to prepare professionals for effective work with families.
