The main characteristics of depressive disorders are a pronounced lack of pleasure, loss of interest and reduced drive, which persist over a period of at least two weeks. Other symptoms include self-doubt, sleep disorders, loss of concentration, feelings of guilt and recurring thoughts of death or suicide. A distinction is made between different forms of depressive disorders (e.g. dysthymia, recurrent depressive disorder).
